As someone who is particularly picky about accommodation hygiene when going out, I did a long time of psychological construction before coming to Shanghai this time. It wasn't until I checked into Rayfont Shanghai Xuhui Hotel that I finally let go of all my concerns and stayed for three days.
When checking in, the front desk took the initiative to inform me that every room in the hotel has implemented a three-level hygiene verification standard, and every detail from the public area to the interior of the room has been reviewed by a dedicated person. I was still half believing and half doubting at the time, until the moment I pushed open the door, most of my concerns were immediately dispelled. Upon entering, I first touched the top of the door frame and the corners of the entrance storage area. There were no traces of dust accumulation, and even the inside of the shoe cabinet, which is usually overlooked, was wiped clean without any mold or odor.
What surprised me the most was the details of the bedding. I deliberately lifted the corners of the pillow and bed sheet, and did not find any traces of hair strands or stains. The stitches of the duvet cover and pillowcase were flat and snug, without any wrinkles after use. Upon closer inspection, there was only a faint scent of sunlight laundry detergent, without any pungent smell of disinfectant. Later, while chatting with the cleaning lady, I learned that all bedding in the hotel follows a process of high-temperature water washing and secondary ironing. Every time a guest changes, the entire set is replaced, even if the guest only stays for half a day.
The bathroom hygiene exceeded my expectations. There is no water residue on the glass in the shower area, and the anti slip pad feels dry and fluffy to the touch, without the sticky feeling caused by long-term dampness. There is not even a trace of scale on the countertop of the washbasin, and the metal part of the faucet is shiny with no fingerprints or water stains. I specifically used my phone's flashlight to shine on the base and edge gaps of the toilet, and there were no yellow stains or dust. The toilet seat was also disinfected twice, and the disinfectant wipes next to it can be used at any time. Even the shower floor drain, which is easily overlooked in many hotels, is cleaned clean and free of hair strands, and the drainage speed is so fast that there is no accumulation of water.
Even the small corners that many people don't care about are done with extra care. The tea cups and glass cups on the desktop are all sterilized at high temperatures and sealed with dust-proof film. When they are torn open, there is still a faint residual temperature. The remote control and switch panel have been carefully wiped with alcohol swabs, without any fingerprints or oil stains. The curtains and sofa cushions by the window didn't have any dust particles to the touch, but later I found out that the hotel conducts a deep vacuuming and mite removal on all soft furnishings every three days.
Having stayed in so many hotels, it's rare to come across a place that has taken hygiene details to such an extreme. Rayfont Shanghai Xuhui Hotel did not use "cleanliness and hygiene" as a promotional slogan, but instead incorporated it into every invisible detail. For someone like me who is particularly picky about accommodation hygiene, this place can be called a "safe and secure" place to stay.
